Third Gender who are inclined to earn their livelihood through a decent and respectable profession are provided with financial assistance to start-up small businesses like setting up of grocery shops, rearing of milch animals, canteens, cloth, coir, rice and vegetable vending. Financial assistance is also given for buying auto and goods auto for business activities. The Government provides monthly pension to help Third Gender who are above the age of 40 years.
Government have proactively initiated the process of providing employment to third genders in various Government Departments to lead a dignified life in the Society. Till 2020 Five third genders are recruited as Sub Inspector and Constables in Police Department and two third genders are posted as Physiotherapist and Lab Assistant in Health Department. In the Social Welfare Department, two third genders have been appointed as Nutritious Meal Organiser and Cook. Two of them have been appointed as Office Assistant and Jeep Driver. Further, eight Third genders have been appointed as Security guard in Government Medical College, Thanjavur District.
An “Award for the third gender” of Rs.1.00 lakh and a citation has been instituted from the year 2020 to encourage the third gender who has done eminent work for the welfare of third gender and who has built their career on their own efforts, The award will be felicitated on “Third Gender Day” which falls on 15th April of every year.
மூன்றாம் பாலினர் தங்களது வாழ்வாதாரத்தை மதிப்புடனும், மரியாதைக்குரிய முறையிலும் அமைத்து கொள்ளும் வகையில் மளிகை கடைகள், சிற்றுண்டி கடைகள், துணி கடை, தேங்காய் நாறு பொருட்கள், அரிசி மற்றும் காய்கறி கடைகள் போன்ற சிறு வணிகம் துவங்குதல், ஆடு, மாடு வளர்த்தல் போன்ற தொழில்களுக்கு நிதியுதவி வழங்கப்படுகிறது. பயணிகள் ஆட்டோ மற்றும் பொருட்கள் ஏற்றி செல்லும் ஆட்டோ ஆகியவை வாங்கவும் நிதியுதவி வழங்கப்படுகிறது. 40 வயதை கடந்த மூன்றாம் பாலினருக்கு மாதாந்திர ஓய்வூதியம் ரூ.1000/- வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
சமுதாயத்தில் மூன்றாம் பாலினர் மதிப்புடன் வாழ அரசு, முன் உதாரணமாக பல்வேறு அரசுத் துறைகளில் வேலை வாய்ப்பினை வழங்கி வருகிறது. காவல் துறையில் உதவி ஆய்வாளர் மற்றும் காவலர் பணி, சுகாதராத் துறையில் இயன்முறை சிகிச்சையாளர் மற்றும் ஆய்வுகூட உதவியாளர் பணி, சமூக நலம் மற்றும் சத்துணவுத் திட்டத் துறையில் சத்துணவு அமைப்பாளர் மற்றும் சமையலர் பணி ஆகியவற்றில் மூன்றாம் பாலினர் பணியமர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர். அலுவலக உதவியாளர் மற்றும் ஈப்பு ஓட்டுநராக இரு மூன்றாம் பாலினர் அரசு பணியில் உள்ளனர். மேலும், எட்டு மூன்றாம் பாலினர் தஞ்சாவூர் மருத்துவ கல்லூரியில் பாதுகாப்பு பணியிலும் பணியமர்த்தப்பட்டுளளனர்.
"சிறந்த மூன்றாம் பாலினர் விருது" 2019ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு மூன்றாம் பாலினர் நலனில் சிறந்த சேவை செய்து, அவர்களது பணியினை தனது சொந்த முயற்சியின் மூலம் கட்டமைக்க உதவிய மூன்றாம் பாலினருக்கு ரூ.1.00 லட்சம் மற்றும் பாராட்டு சான்றுடன் இவ்விருது வழங்கி ஊக்குவிக்கப்படுகிறது. இவ்விருது ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மூன்றாம் பாலினர் நாளான ஏப்ரல் 15-ம் நாள் வழங்கி சிறப்பிக்கப்படுகிறது.
